Scholarship Criteria
Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators
Scholarship Program
Since the 1989-1990 school year, the
Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators (TASPA) has awarded a scholarship to assist college students seeking their initial teaching certification and/or endorsement. The scholarship will be a mimimum of $2,000 for one year, granted in two installments of $1,000 or half the scholarship amount per semester during the student's final year provided the individual meets all maintenance requirements.
One semester must be the student teaching semester. TASPA works in conjunction with the
Texas Association for Employment in Education (TAEE) in administering the scholarship on TAEE current member campuses. Checks will be sent directly to the career services representative to verify that the applicant is a full-time student and is pursuing a prescribed course of study for initial teacher certification and/or endorsement before applying any money to the costs.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student graduating in May or August 2012.
- Recipients agree to be introduced to TASPA & TAEE at either the summer or winter meeting.
- Any monies not used for tuition can be applied to any other university-based expenses the student may incur.
TAEE Coordination Process
- Only ONE application from each participating school will be submitted by the TAEE Career Services Office representative to the TASPA scholarship committee.
- Questions concerning the application process should be addressed to the TAEE Career Services Office representative on your campus.
- If your nominee is selected, you will be contacted through the TAEE Career Services Office representative by the TASPA scholarship committee by mid-August.
Application materials must be submitted to the Career Center representative by June 12, 2011.
